Student
A student is someone who has expressed a basic interest in the School and has begun the process of seeking knowledge with an open mind. In order to advance, a student should actively attempt to learn the proper etiquette and behavior expected at the School and develop an understanding of what we represent. All students should be registered on the website and use Teamspeak (don't have to have a mic). Students will begin their training by learning the seven cuts. When a student has demonstrated involvement and begun to develop good relationships with other members of the school, as well as showing proficiency in performing the seven basic cuts, he or she will be selected for advancement to apprentice level.
Apprentice
An apprentice is a student who has demonstrated the proper attitude and understanding of what it means to dedicate time and patience to training. Apprentices should actively work to learn all the tools on the tool list from an artist and be able to take direction and instruction from others as well as train alone. All apprentices must use Teamspeak (not required to have a mic, but encouraged). Once an apprentice has demonstrated continual growth and development in their own training and learning of the tools, as well as regular event participation and involvement, he or she will be considered for advancement to artist level.
Artist
An artist is a student who has developed an understanding of the true art behind combat. Artists are recognizable primarily by their knowledge, with skill following. Artists are not expected to know the entire tool list at the time of their selection, but should continue to advance their own knowledge through training and direction from other artists. All artists should be proficient enough in the basic tools to instruct a student or apprentice in learning those tools and should always set an example to others with an attitude of humility and respect.
